Guests coming from greece can reach the district by ferry-boat or speed-ferries in approx. 2 hours. The transportation inland to Ayvalik is made usually by highway.
There are direct transportation possibilities from almost all major cities.
Guests coming from provinces can reach the district by buses coming through Balikesir or Izmir. The terminal is located only 1.5 km south from the town.
Guests preferring the airways can fly to Balikesir Koca Şeyit airport in Edremit (45km to Ayvalik) or to Izmir, Adnan Menderes airport and continue by highway.
Coming from Istanbul the Istanbul-Bandirma or Pendik-Yalova destination fast ferries would be another alternative to choose from.
